There are many things that catch our interest - whether it's reading a good book, listening to our favorite music or visiting a museum. These are all certainly worth our time and conversation. I'd like to share an experience with you on a subject that grabbed my interest.
Last Sunday evening Wildfire teamed up with the Chicago Bears for the kickoff of a new event called The Wildfire Wrap-Up. What is the Wildfire Wrap Up? It is the perfect combination of Wildfire food and Bears football in a private room at Wildfire Chicago. I was excited to have the opportunity to attend this inaugural dinner with my two sons. The event began at 6 p.m., about 3 hours after
the game finished, and ended at 8 p.m. The play by play announcers for the Chicago Bears, Jeff Joniak and Tom Thayer of WBBM News Radio 780, analyzed the game that ended in a Bears victory! They opened the evening by letting the fans know that they would be there throughout the dinner to talk about the game and answer any questions the fans may have.
I was impressed with some of the questions that were asked by knowledgeable Bears fans. There were several questions that resulted in a back and forth conversation that became passionate about the team and the sport of football. It resulted in an entertaining and educational evening for all.
Along with the opportunity to converse with Jeff and Tom ( for those who don't know, Tom was an offensive lineman on the Super Bowl team of 1985), Wildfire served a multi-course meal that included tomato basil pizza, chicken and Portobello mushroom skewers, Caesar salad, filet and shrimp, redskin mashed potatoes, wood roasted vegetables, and to finish it off, triple layer chocolate cake and apple streusel pie. It was a great selection of food that was enjoyed while watching Sunday night football on a big screen plasma TV. After the meal there was a raffle for some Bears memorabilia and Wildfire gift certificates.
Both my sons and I enjoyed the interaction between Tom and Jeff. They mingled with the fans and were both so friendly that it seemed they had known everyone for years.
There are two more Wildfire Wrap-Up dinners available, although tickets are going quickly. The dates are November 1st and November 8th, both starting at 6 p.m., and will have varying menus. Click here for more information regarding the Wrap Up dinners. For those who enjoy Wildfire and football..."Touchdown! Touchdown Bears!"
