Unveiling a New Wine, Martini and Beer List (Part 2)

The new wine, martini, cocktail and beer menus have been officially launched in Wildfire Lincolnshire, Glenview and Schaumburg. Next up: Wildfire Chicago on Wednesday, September 22nd and Wildfire Oakbrook on Friday, October 1st.  My last blog focused on some of the new cocktails and martinis, so now let's talk about some of the new craft/microbrew beers on draught.

The Two Brothers Domaine DuPage used to be available at the Wildfire IL locations by the bottle and now our guests can enjoy this delicious beer on draught. Two Brothers Brewing Company was founded by Jim and Jason Ebel in late 1996,  is a family owned and operated microbrewery and brewpub located in the western suburbs of Chicago and the "2 brothers" have been hand crafting artisan beers since 1997. Inspired by the brothers' time living in France, the Two Brothers Domaine DuPage is a food-friendly ale that is deep amber in color and has a toasty, sweet caramel start. It finishes with a subtle amount of hops. Try this French Country Ale with either the Wildfire Crispy Fried Calamari or the St. Louis Ribs.

Another draught beer that is new on tap at Wildfire is New Belgium Brewing Company's Fat Tire Amber Ale. Named in honor of the founder Jeff Lebesch's bike trip through Belgium, Fat Tire Amber Ale marked a turning point in the young electrical engineer's home brewing. Upon his return, Jeff created Fat Tire and Abbey Belgian Ale, (assuming Abbey would be his big gun). He and his wife, Kim traveled around sampling their homebrews to the public. Fat Tire's appeal quickly became evident. People liked everything about it- except the name! Fat Tire won fans with its sense of balance: toasty, biscuit-like malt flavors coasting in equilibrium with hoppy freshness. This beer would be a great pairing with either the Cedar Planked Salmon or the Roumanian Skirt Steak.

Wildfire and Goose Island have been partners since the opening of the first Wildfire location in Chicago on Erie in 1995.  We are very excited to offer one of Goose Island's newest beers, "Green Line" on draught.  Green Line Pale Ale is the beer at the heart of Goose Island's environmental sustainability initiative, the Green Line Project. The Chicago Green Line Pale Ale is a honey-colored, immensely sessionable American pale ale with a pronounced, bright, American hop aroma and citrus flavor. Notes of biscuit and lightly toasted malt create the backbone for Green Line's pleasant, crisp bitterness. Enjoy this tasty craft beer with Wildfire's Baby Back Ribs or the Black Angus Burger.

If you can't decide which of these three new beers on draught you'd like to try first, I've got the perfect solution. You can try all three of these new beers along with the Stella Artois for yourself when you order the new "Craft On Draught" beer flight! We offered a beer flight at Wildfire years ago, but decided to take it off the menu. Now with craft beers continuing to grow in popularity we thought it was time to bring back the beer flight concept.

Stay tuned for my next blog which will highlight some of the new Wildfire beers by the bottle.

Cheers to you,

Brad Wermager
